Overview

Must have minimum of 2 years of experience as an outside machinist or ship mechanic in a shipyard environment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Applies basic machine shop math;
  • Demonstrates layout proficiency for pumps, hydraulics, engines, steering systems and hydraulic systems;
  • Disassembles various types of equipment and machinery common to maritime vessels and/or general industry including but not limited to pumps, valves, winches, gear boxes;
  • Assists in determining repairs as required to bring equipment to rebuilt status; Installation, alignment and startup of pumps, shafting, steering systems, anchor handling equipment and other marine vessel systems.
