Repairs

Repair and maintenance work range from routine dockside maintenance and repairs, to drydocking and inspection for Classification Society and U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard regulatory purposes, to complete ship repowering and reconstruction. Topside work of every kind for laker and saltwater vessels of all sizes is performed either at the customer’s dock or at other deep-water berths. Great Lakes Shipyard can haul-out multiple vessels of up to 770-tons for drydocking and bottom work using the mobile Travelift, allowing several projects to be underway simultaneously.

The Shipyard’s customers include the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Navy, U.S. National Park Service, U.S. NOAA, various research institutions and other State and local governments. Large lake carriers and oceangoing vessels utilize the Shipyard for top-side repairs and emergencies.
