Great Lakes Ship­yard launched Unit­ed States Envi­ron­men­tal Pro­tec­tion Agency R/V LAKE EXPLORER II on Mon­day, Octo­ber 27, 2014 using the 770-ton capac­i­ty Marine Trav­elift after suc­cess­ful­ly com­plet­ing the fol­low­ing repairs:

  • Dry­dock­ing
  • Rou­tine Repairs & Maintenance
  • Upgrades
  • Design, Fab­ri­ca­tion & Instal­la­tion of a New Bul­bous Bow

The ves­sel depart­ed for its home­port of Duluth, MN on Tues­day, Octo­ber 28, 2014.
