Towing Company Begins Work on 13th Tug as Part of Its Major Fleet Overhaul Program

The Great Lakes Towing Company begins work on Tug NEW JERSEY as part of its ongoing fleet overhaul program. Drydocking and routine maintenance for NEW JERSEY includes:
- Typical US Coast Guard Inspections
- Drydocking and Routine Maintenance and Repairs
- Cleaning and Painting
- Remove Rudder, Prop & Shaft for Maintenance
- Service Sea Valves
- Replace Shaft Bearing
- Convert Generator from Air to Electric (Battery) Start
- Install New Depth Sounder Transducer
- Other Various Cleaning, Inspections, and Repairs
The 34,000 bollard pull tug is the 13th tug to be overhauled and inspected as part of the Company’s initiative thus far. Other tugs included in the major fleet overhaul program to date include:

- INDIANA
- IOWA
- LOUISIANA
- MISSOURI
- OHIO
- PENNSYLVANIA
- SUPERIOR
- VERMONT
- WYOMING
In the short-term, the program will also include:
