Great Lakes Ship­yard has com­plet­ed exten­sive repair work on the Unit­ed States Coast Guard Cut­ter BUCKTHORN, an 100-foot inland buoy ten­der based out of Sault Ste. Marie, Michi­gan.  Steel repairs, clean­ing, and paint­ing along with oth­er var­i­ous inspec­tion, main­te­nance, and repairs were per­formed on the vessel.

The BUCKTHORN is the Great Lakes’ old­est USCG cut­ter, com­mis­sioned on August 18, 1963.
