Attending Great Lakes Maritime Conferences

The Great Lakes Tow­ing Com­pa­ny and Great Lakes Ship­yard will be attend­ing a cou­ple of mar­itime con­fer­ences this week in Tra­verse City, Michigan.

The Great Lakes Cap­tains Asso­ci­a­tion Indus­try Days will be held Jan­u­ary 7–9 at Great Wolf Lodge in Tra­verse City, Michi­gan. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from com­mer­cial and gov­ern­ment orga­ni­za­tions and busi­ness­es from around the Great Lakes meet every year to dis­cuss per­ti­nent top­ics relat­ed to the future of the marine indus­try in the region.

The Great Lakes Cap­tains Asso­ci­a­tion seeks to pro­mote safe­ty, edu­ca­tion and good fel­low­ship between oper­a­tors and oth­ers with relat­ed inter­ests. The asso­ci­a­tion works with boat own­ers and com­pa­nies to increase com­mu­ni­ca­tion and coop­er­a­tion between among and the workforce.

Fol­low­ing the GLCA con­fer­ence, the Great Lakes Asso­ci­a­tion of Sci­ence Ships is hold­ing their Annu­al Sci­ence Ves­sel Coor­di­na­tion Work­shop on Jan­u­ary 10, also at Great Wolf Lodge in Tra­verse City, Michigan.

GLASS is ded­i­cat­ed to improv­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tion and col­lab­o­ra­tion between sci­ence ves­sels and help­ing to best match the capa­bil­i­ties of all ves­sels with the needs of research and edu­ca­tion­al pro­grams through­out the Great Lakes.
