Attending Great Lakes Maritime Conferences
The Great Lakes Towing Company and Great Lakes Shipyard will be attending a couple of maritime conferences this week in Traverse City, Michigan.
The Great Lakes Captains Association Industry Days will be held January 7–9 at Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Michigan. Representatives from commercial and government organizations and businesses from around the Great Lakes meet every year to discuss pertinent topics related to the future of the marine industry in the region.
The Great Lakes Captains Association seeks to promote safety, education and good fellowship between operators and others with related interests. The association works with boat owners and companies to increase communication and cooperation between among and the workforce.
Following the GLCA conference, the Great Lakes Association of Science Ships is holding their Annual Science Vessel Coordination Workshop on January 10, also at Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Michigan.
GLASS is dedicated to improving communication and collaboration between science vessels and helping to best match the capabilities of all vessels with the needs of research and educational programs throughout the Great Lakes.
