Overview

Must have min­i­mum of 2 years of expe­ri­ence as an out­side machin­ist or ship mechan­ic in a ship­yard environment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Applies basic machine shop math;
  • Demon­strates lay­out pro­fi­cien­cy for pumps, hydraulics, engines, steer­ing sys­tems and hydraulic systems;
  • Dis­as­sem­bles var­i­ous types of equip­ment and machin­ery com­mon to mar­itime ves­sels and/or gen­er­al indus­try includ­ing but not lim­it­ed to pumps, valves, winch­es, gear boxes;
  • Assists in deter­min­ing repairs as required to bring equip­ment to rebuilt sta­tus; Instal­la­tion, align­ment and start­up of pumps, shaft­ing, steer­ing sys­tems, anchor han­dling equip­ment and oth­er marine ves­sel systems.
