The Towing Company’s New Harbor Tug WISCONSIN Completes First Tow

The Great Lakes Towing Company proudly announces the first harbor assist for its newest tug, WISCONSIN.  On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, the tug WISCONSIN assisted the CALUMET, a Great Lakes bulk freighter owned and operated by Rand Logistics.

Tug WISCONSIN brought the CALUMET from the River Dock located on the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, Ohio out to the Main Entrance of the river.

Tug WISCONSIN’s crew included Captain Scott Baker and Deckhand Russell Lempke.

This was the first time I had the opportunity to make an inaugural tow with one of our new tugs. It was an honor!”

- Captain Scott Baker

Tug WISCONSIN is Hull 6505, the fifth Damen tug to be built by Great Lakes Shipyard under the Towing Company’s current fleet renewal program.
