Min Experience: 5–7 years as Manager within the Maritime Industry, including the US Coast Guard
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Reports to: VP, Operations
Required Travel: 30%
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marine Operations:
- Management and oversight of all fleet activities, including the day-to-day activities of the Operations Center, including all Operations Center personnel;
- Ops Center personnel training and development;
- Company Representative in any/all safety incidents, including security events, quality issues, reliability problems, equipment failures, environmental releases, and/or marine transportation accidents;
- Take lead role as Company’s liaison to the US Coast Guard;
- Internal development of new business or expansion ideas and opportunities
Marine Personnel:
- Maintenance of Labor Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding between the Company and the Unions which represent the Licensed and Unlicensed Tugmen employed on the Great Lakes
- Preparation and maintenance of all Company employee afloat Personnel Records, in accordance with Company policy;
- Assess, plan, and implement all marine personnel requirements, including employment, training and development activities;
Regulatory Compliance:
- Evaluate all Company marine operations policies and procedures to promote and ensure strict compliance with current laws and regulations, and to assess suitability and standard of quality;
- Maintenance of the Company’s Towing Safety Maintenance System, including all annual updates and new policies and procedures.
- Preparation and maintenance of all Company towing and operations files;
- Ensuring that all Company tugs are outfitted and crewed in accordance with Federal regulations and Company policy;
- Review federal, state and international laws and regulations to assure towing vessel compliance;
- Coordinate implementation of compliance activities;
- Prepare, promulgate, maintain, and update required policies, procedures, reports, plans and manuals;
- Lead interpretation and compliance of regulatory issues;
- Maintenance and administration of the Company’s Safety Programs in accordance with Company procedures and Federal regulations;
- Special Projects as assigned.
